Integral index in the evaluating of the infrastructure in the region development: the scientific and educational-methodical aspects

Abstract

The article focuses on two interrelated issues: the latest methods of measuring the region’s infrastructure using integrated index and the methodological possibilities of using this theme with the students in the process of teaching and learning curriculum “regionalism”. This article was prepared on the basis of practical experience of participating authors during the 2016 project “Infrastructure of Ukraine’s regions. Priorities of modernization” in the implementation of which took part Kherson city public organization Research Center for South-Ukrainian borderland The project is coordinated by Poleski Foundation International and Regional Studies in the format of the Association of regional analysis centers, with the participation of the Chernihiv National Technological University. Attracting students to the realization of the project tasks, the study of problems of regional development and infrastructure speakers during lectures and practical exercises opens up new educational and methodical features. Subject article is consistent with the practical and theoretical work of the teachers of the department of Kherson State University socio-economic geography in the Working Group of the Kherson Regional State Administration to develop a regional Strategy for the Development of the Kherson region until 2020, the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy and monitoring its implementation.
