Formation of a middle class within a capital makroregion of Ukraine: social and geographic aspects

It is stated that to identify the middle class it is important to establish a significant differentiation between the constituent elements that reveal the prerequisites for the formation of a middle class and are expressed through the relationship within the territorial units. Prerequisites for the formation of a middle class are studied through interregional differences in terms of size of cash income. It is noted that in different areas a middle class is formed influenced by regional factors. It is outlined that through socio-geographical approach aimed at identifying a middle class the regional specifics of the Capital region is being found out. The households identifying themselves with the middle class in terms of the criterion of material well-being were compared based on systematization of statistical data.
