GEOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OF THE DEVICE OF FOREST AND USE OF FOREST IN THE TERRITORY OF THE KIROVOGRAD REGION

Abstract

In the article, a geographic analysis of the device of forest and use of forest in the territory of the Kirovograd region is carried out. The current state of the forest fund is characterized, the features of the territorial distribution of forests, the distribution of forests into groups, the prevailing types of forests, their pedigree and age composition are determined, the territorial features of forestry are analyzed, and  the issues of forest restoration and conservation are considered.

On the territory of the Kirovograd region in 2017 the certification of forests began.

The purpose of forest certification is to ensure economically, ecologically and socially balanced forest management by adhering to the relevant generally accepted standards. Ecologically balanced and responsible forest management involves harvesting timber and other forest products while simultaneously preserving natural ecological processes, biodiversity of forests and their productivity. At present, the certificates of responsible forestry management were Chernolysky, Oleksandrivsky, Golovanivsky, Anykyivskyy forestry enterprises.

Regional ecological program "Forests of Kirovograd region" is being implemented in the region, designed for 2016- 2020 years. The program envisages the development of forestry in the region, including increased forest cover due to territories that are unsuitable for agricultural use due to land degradation. Planned implementation of forest felling on the area of 1.55 thousand hectares, reforestation - on the area of 2.5 thousand hectares.
