SOCIAL-GEOGRAPHICAL ASPECTS OF INTEGRATED URBAN DEVELOPMENT: UKRAINIAN REALITIES

Abstract

The article focuses on the formation of a new paradigm of urban development, according to which the city should be comfortable, safe, clean, creative and comfortable for life. A reference point is chosen the sustainable and harmonious development of urban settlements in their interaction with rural space based on efficient, sustainable reproduction of human potential and its effective employment, increase the level and improve the quality of life, including through maximizing the use of the integral potential of the territory. At the same time, urbanization is a geographically specific process and its results can be quite different in accordance with the peculiarities of developing the territory. The features and problems of modern urban development in Ukraine are considered, which should be taken into account by forming of the newest strategies.
